Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The HOMCOM Folding Rollator Walker arrives largely pre-assembled, requiring minimal setup. Most users can have it ready within 5-10 minutes without the need for tools. The main steps typically involve:
- Unfolding: Carefully unfold the frame until it locks into place.
- Attaching Wheels (if detached): Ensure all wheels are securely attached.
- Adjusting Height: Use the push-pin mechanisms on the legs to set the handles to your preferred height. Your wrists should be level with the handles when your arms are relaxed at your sides.
- Attaching Storage Bag: Secure the included storage bag to the designated points.
Compatibility
This rollator is designed to accommodate users with a height between 160-190cm (approximately 5 feet 3 inches to 6 feet 3 inches). It's crucial to adjust the handle height correctly for optimal comfort and stability.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe down the frame and seat with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners that could damage the finish or fabric. Ensure all parts are dry before use.
- Brakes: Regularly check the brake cables and mechanisms to ensure they are functioning correctly. If brakes feel loose or ineffective, consult the user manual for adjustment instructions or seek professional assistance.
- Wheels: Inspect the wheels periodically for wear and tear. Keep them free of debris like hair or lint, which can impede smooth rolling.
- Folding Mechanism: Keep the folding joints clean to ensure smooth operation. Avoid forcing the mechanism if it feels stiff.
- Storage: Store the rollator in a dry place, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight, to prolong its lifespan. When not in use, folding it can save space.
