The Excel 12-Piece Router Cutter Bit Set is designed for woodworkers and DIY enthusiasts who require precision and versatility for cabinetry, furniture making, and joinery. Featuring tungsten carbide tips and a universal 1/4 inch shank, this set offers clean, accurate cuts across a wide range of profiles; however, users should note that the 1/4 inch shank is best suited for light-to-medium duty routing tasks rather than heavy-duty industrial production.

Yes, provided you purchase and use a 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch collet reducer or adapter.
Yes, the tungsten carbide tips are well-suited for abrasive materials like MDF and plywood.
The storage case is clearly labeled, and the profiles are standard industry shapes. Refer to the bit shape to match your project needs.
It is generally not recommended to oil the bearings as it can attract sawdust. If a bearing becomes stiff, clean it with a degreaser and compressed air.
While technically possible, it is usually not cost-effective for 1/4-inch shank bits. It is recommended to replace them when they no longer cut cleanly.
Reduce your feed rate, ensure your router speed is set correctly for the bit diameter, or take smaller passes to reduce material removal per pass.
Check that the collet is clean and tightened securely. Also, verify that the bit is fully seated and not slipping.
Ensure the bit is sharp, check that your feed direction is correct, and try a climb-cut technique for the final pass if appropriate for the wood species.
To set up your router, ensure your tool collet is clean and free of debris before inserting the bit. Insert the shank into the collet, then pull it back out approximately 1/8 inch before tightening, which prevents the bit from bottoming out and ensures a secure grip. Always verify the bit is properly seated and the collet is tightened to the manufacturer's torque specifications. For care, keep the carbide tips free of resin and sap by using a specialized router bit cleaner. Store the bits in their designated slots in the aluminium case when not in use to avoid impact damage to the cutting edges.
