Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
The X-Sense Carbon Monoxide Detector is designed for quick and easy installation. As a battery-operated unit, it requires no complex wiring.
- Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment and insert the provided batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Mounting Bracket: Secure the mounting bracket to the ceiling or wall using the included screws in a suitable location (e.g., central hallway, near sleeping areas, away from direct fumes).
- Attach Detector: Twist the detector onto the mounted bracket to secure it.
- Interlinking (Optional): If linking multiple units, follow the specific interlinking procedure outlined in the user manual for the Xc01-M model, typically involving pressing a button on each unit within a set timeframe.
Compatibility:
- This unit is compatible with other X-Sense wireless interlinkable alarms.
- For smart features such as remote monitoring and control via smartphone, it must be paired with the SBS50 Base Station (sold separately).
Care and Maintenance:
- Cleaning: Regularly dust the exterior of the detector with a soft, dry cloth. Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to remove dust from the vents. Never use water, cleaning solvents, or aerosol cleaners.
- Testing: Test the alarm weekly by pressing the test button to ensure it is functioning correctly.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries immediately when the low battery warning sounds, or at least once a year. Use only the specified battery type.
- Ventilation: Ensure the vents are not blocked by dust or obstructions.
