- Preparation: Pre-wash the fabric to remove any finishes. Protect your work surface.
- Dye Bath: Follow the instructions on the Rit Liquid Dye bottle to prepare the dye bath. This typically involves using hot water and stirring well.
- Dyeing: Submerge the fabric in the dye bath, ensuring it's fully covered. Stir continuously to ensure even color distribution.
- Rinsing: Rinse the fabric thoroughly with cool water until the water runs clear.
- Washing: Wash the dyed item separately in cool water with mild detergent.
Compatibility: Rit Liquid Dye is best suited for natural fibers like cotton, linen, wool, silk, rayon, and ramie. It can also be used on wood, wicker, paper, and cork. Use Rit DyeMore for synthetic fabrics.
Care: After dyeing, wash the item separately for the first few washes to prevent color bleeding. Avoid using bleach or harsh detergents.
