This McAlpine Pop-Up Plug is specifically designed to fit 50mm basin waste outlets.
No, the plug is designed for easy and quick installation. It typically involves simply placing it into the compatible waste opening and testing its operation.
To clean the chrome finish, use a soft, damp cloth with mild soap and water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
The main advantage is the convenience of easily controlling water flow. You can plug the basin to fill it and then easily open it to drain the water with a simple push or pull action.
This plug is specifically designed for basin waste systems. Its dimensions and mechanism are optimized for sinks and basins, not typically for shower or bath drains.
This is a 'pop-up' plug, meaning it operates independently without a chain. It is designed to be manually pushed down to seal and pulled up to open.
Ensure the plug is correctly seated in the 50mm waste outlet. Check for any debris on the seating surface of the waste or the plug itself. If the issue persists, the rubber seal on the plug may need replacement.
Check for obstructions around the plug's stem. Clean any visible dirt or grime. If the issue continues, a small amount of silicone lubricant might help, applied carefully to the moving parts.
Clean the plug with a mild soap and water solution using a soft cloth. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean, soft towel. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners.
