Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Connect the FR40 Koi scanner to your computer or POS system using either a USB or RS-232 cable.
- Install any necessary drivers provided by the manufacturer. Often, the scanner is plug-and-play and doesn't require additional drivers. Check the Newland website or your POS system documentation for driver information.
- Configure the scanner settings through your POS software to match your needs (e.g., barcode symbologies, data formatting).
- Test the scanner by scanning a barcode to ensure it's functioning correctly.
Compatibility
The FR40 Koi is compatible with most modern operating systems (Windows, macOS, and Linux) and POS systems. Ensure your POS software supports the chosen interface (USB or RS-232).
Care
- Clean the scanner window regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
- Do not expose the scanner to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for extended periods.
- Handle the scanner with care to avoid dropping or damaging it.
