Sustainably sourced: Our Thornwood firewood bag is crafted from a mix of invasive non-native Namibian Acacia trees, with its harvesting playing a crucial role in protecting native trees and plants. Perfect for everyday winter heating or frequent barbecues: Burns faster than our Camelthorn and Sicklebush woods, resulting in quicker coal production. Longer-lasting coals compared to locally sourced woods like Oak, Birch & Ashwood. Creates a distinct bushveld aroma when burned, enriching meat with a delightful wood-fired flavour that can only be acquired using a wild African hardwood. High-temperature capability: Burns at approximately 900°C, reducing the need for excessive fuel during cooking. Lowest moisture content: Naturally sun-dried in the hot Namibian bush, our wood requires no kiln drying.
