Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup:
Your Dawes Discovery 3.0 will arrive 85% assembled in the manufacturer's packaging. A basic set of tools is included to assist with assembly. It is strongly recommended that a qualified bicycle mechanic or local bike shop completes the final assembly to ensure all components are correctly fitted and adjusted for safety and optimal performance. This typically includes installing the handlebars, pedals, front wheel, seatpost, and brake/gear adjustments.
Compatibility:
- Accessories: The frame is equipped with mounts for standard rear racks and front/rear mudguards. Ensure accessory sizes are compatible with the frame.
- Riding Surfaces: Designed for pavement, light gravel, and well-maintained dirt paths. Not intended for aggressive off-road riding.
Care and Maintenance:
- Cleaning: Clean the frame and components regularly with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid high-pressure water jets, especially on bearings and drivetrain components.
- Brakes: Hydraulic disc brakes require periodic checks for fluid levels and pad wear. Consult your local bike shop for servicing.
- Tires: Maintain proper tire pressure as indicated on the tire sidewall. Regularly inspect tires for wear and embedded debris.
- Drivetrain: Keep the chain clean and lubricated for smooth shifting and extended component life. Periodically check for chain wear.
- Storage: Store the bike in a dry, protected area away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
