Product Information
Full details
This listing is for a 10 pack of Dual Port BT Wall Master Sockets. Each socket features 5/4A IDC punch down terminals for easy installation. The extension socket size is 86mm x 86mm, fitting a standard back box, and includes fixing screws. These master sockets are designed to be connected to the main incoming telephone lines of a property and cannot be used as extension sockets. Each plate has two outlets on the front, allowing for two phones to be connected to the same line, and also supports plugging in two extension sockets into one plate. Installation involves connecting the BT drop cable's internal wires (usually orange and white) to connections 2 and 5 on the master socket, often marked as A & B. Polarity can be important for some equipment; a multi-meter can be used to check which wire has a -48V voltage (for pin 5/B) and which has 0V (for pin 2/A). Connections are made using screw terminals. The BT drop cable may contain multiple pairs of internal cables, allowing for additional lines in the property or providing spare pairs if one fails. The sockets can be surface or flush mounted and are ROHS Compliant.
