This guide is for Parker fountain pen users who want to use bottled ink. The Parker Deluxe Piston Converter allows you to fill your pen with ink from a bottle, saving money and offering a wider range of ink colors. Note that it is not compatible with all Parker pen models, specifically the Esprit.

Submerge the nib in the ink bottle and turn the piston knob to draw ink into the converter. It is recommended to expel a few drops of ink back into the bottle to remove air bubbles.
This converter fits all current Parker fountain pens (excluding the Esprit model) and the majority of vintage cartridge/converter Parker pens.
Clean the converter regularly, especially when changing ink colors or if the ink flow becomes inconsistent. Flush it with water.
You can use any fountain pen ink with the Parker Deluxe Piston Converter. Parker Quink inks are recommended for best results.
After filling, turn the piston knob a little bit to push a few ink drops back to the bottle and then fill again. This process helps eliminate air bubbles.
First, make sure the converter is filled. Then, check the nib for any blockages. Flush the converter and the nib with water. If the problem persists, ensure the converter is properly inserted.
Bottled ink offers a wider range of colors, reduces waste from disposable cartridges, and is often more economical in the long run.
Clean the nib and converter thoroughly with water. Ensure the converter is filled correctly and that ink is flowing freely. Check for any blockages.
Adjust the nib pressure or try a different ink. Ensure the converter is properly seated in the pen.
Check that the converter is securely attached to the pen section and that the piston seal is intact. Clean any ink residue and reassemble the pen.
