Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure success, plant your Flamenco strawberries in high-quality, free-draining potting compost if using containers. If planting in the ground, amend heavy soil with organic matter to improve aeration. Space the plants at least 25 cm apart to ensure adequate airflow, which helps prevent fungal issues. During the establishment phase, water daily until the root system has spread into the surrounding soil. Throughout the fruiting season, apply a balanced liquid potassium-rich fertilizer every two weeks to support the continuous production of fruit. As autumn approaches, remove dead leaves to prevent disease overwintering and mulch the base if temperatures drop significantly.
