No, this is a paper sewing pattern only. You will need to purchase your fabric, buttons, and other notions separately.
H5 corresponds to a specific range of sizes provided by Butterick. Please check the back of the pattern envelope for the exact body measurements for this size range.
While the instructions are clear, some experience with garment construction is recommended due to the precision required for tailoring waistcoats.
This pattern includes four different style variations of waistcoats.
This specific kit includes instructions provided in English.
Gently press the tissue paper pieces with a dry iron on the lowest heat setting.
Read the illustrated diagrams alongside the text and look for online video tutorials regarding standard waistcoat assembly techniques like bag-lining.
Adjust the side seams or darts to fine-tune the fit, or consult a standard sewing fitting guide to make pattern alterations before cutting fabric.
To begin your project, ensure you have a clear cutting surface and sharp fabric shears. Before starting, press the pattern paper with a cool, dry iron to remove any creases caused by packaging. Always cross-reference the envelope's requirements for 'notions'—such as interfacing or button sizes—before heading to the fabric store. Once your waistcoat is complete, refer to the care labels of the fabrics you chose to determine the appropriate washing and ironing instructions for the finished garment.
