Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Preparation: Ensure the area where the airbrick will be installed is clean and free from debris.
- Mortar Application: Apply mortar to the back of the airbrick.
- Placement: Position the airbrick in the designated space, aligning it with the building fabric.
- Securing: Press the airbrick firmly into place, ensuring it is level and flush with the surrounding brickwork. The mortar key will help secure the brick.
- Finishing: Remove any excess mortar and allow it to cure.
Compatibility:
The Manthorpe Airbrick is compatible with standard brickwork and mortar. It is suitable for use with gas appliances and is designed for use in cavity walls and under-floor voids.
Care:
- Regular Inspection: Inspect the airbrick regularly to ensure that it is free from blockages caused by leaves, debris, or insects.
- Cleaning: Clean the airbrick periodically with a soft brush or cloth to remove any accumulated dirt or debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Maintenance: Ensure that the water deflectors remain clear to prevent water ingress.
