Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Installation of a ball joint is a critical safety procedure and should ideally be performed by a qualified mechanic. It involves safely lifting the vehicle, removing the wheel, disconnecting suspension components, pressing out the old ball joint, and pressing in the new Delphi TC2606. Proper torque specifications must be followed for all fasteners.
Compatibility:
This ball joint is designed for the front axle, outer, upper position. It is a direct replacement for specific Toyota models compatible with OEM part numbers: 4331009015, 4331009017, 4331009030, 433100K010, and 433100K040. Always verify your vehicle's existing part number and specifications before purchasing.
Care:
Ball joints are sealed units and do not typically require user maintenance. However, regular inspection of suspension components during routine maintenance is recommended. Look for signs of damage, torn rubber boots, or excessive play. If the boot is damaged, contaminants can enter, leading to premature wear. In such cases, the ball joint should be replaced.
