Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: To set up the hand lever shear, identify a stable and level workbench or sturdy surface. Use the four included bottom fastening plates to securely bolt the shear to the surface. Ensure the mounting bolts are tightened firmly to prevent any wobbling during operation. Verify that the lever mechanism moves freely before the first use.
Compatibility: This shear is designed for cutting mild sheet plates, flat bars, and round bars. It is compatible with steel sheets up to 6 mm thick and rods up to 13 mm thick. It is not recommended for cutting hardened steel, thicker materials beyond its specifications, or non-metal materials.
Care: Keep the blade clean and free from rust. After each use, wipe the blade with a dry cloth. Apply a light coat of oil to the blade and pivot points periodically to prevent corrosion and ensure smooth operation. Check the mounting bolts regularly to ensure the shear remains securely fastened. Sharpen the blade if cutting performance degrades, following appropriate sharpening procedures for hardened steel.
