Siemens Multistix GP Professional Urine Reagent Test Strips are a reliable primary test for the detection of a broad range of conditions by testing against 8 different parameters. These urine dip strips provide a result by comparing the changes to the colour of different colour pads, which change colour after being dipped in urine based on the presence and concentration of the different parameters. The comparative colour chart used to read the results of the test is provided on the bottle. Siemens Multistix GP can be used to screen urine for: glucose, ketone, specific gravity, blood, pH, protein, nitrite, and leukocyte. Key features include reliable testing for Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), diabetes, and kidney disorders, with 8 important parameters on a single test strip. They are a cheaper and quicker alternative to laboratory tests, with combined leukocyte/nitrite results for better prediction of UTI with fewer false negatives. These strips are firm, plastic strips that can be read visually, requiring no additional equipment. Using these test strips can save money by reducing the amount of urine culture tests. Automatic analysis can also be used with these test strips to further reduce errors. Each of the Multistix Test Strips also measure physical characteristics, including acid-base balance and urine concentration. Test results can be used along with other diagnostic information to rule out certain diseases and to determine if microscopic analysis is needed.
