The RDE NT55 is a small-diaphragm, true-condenser cardioid microphone, also known as a pencil mic. It features a 12-inch gold-sputtered capsule and includes an interchangeable NT45-O omnidirectional capsule for versatile polar patterns. The microphone is equipped with a three-position pad (0, -10dB, -20dB) and a three-stage high-pass filter (Off, 75Hz, 150Hz). Intended for recording acoustic instruments, drum overheads, cymbals, and live performances, the NT55 is also suitable for dialogue recording in filmmaking due to its tight cardioid pattern. It is finished in durable satin nickel and is available as a single microphone or an acoustically matched pair. Designed and made in Australia, the NT55 comes with RDE's 10-year warranty. Its externally biased condenser design uses surface mount circuitry for low noise. The matched pair offers a wide dynamic range and complete frequency response.
