This cable extends the power connection for a 3-pin PC fan by 30cm, allowing for more flexible placement within your computer case.

You can physically connect a 4-pin fan to this 3-pin extension cable, and it will power the fan. However, it will not support PWM speed control, and the fan will likely run at its maximum speed.

The extension cable itself is 30cm long. The total connection length will be the original cable length plus 30cm.

It is compatible with all standard 3-pin PC fans. It is not designed for fans with proprietary connectors or other specialized power requirements.

The male end connects to a 3-pin fan header typically found on a computer's motherboard or directly from the power supply unit.

These colours usually correspond to the power pins (e.g., Yellow for +12V, Red for +5V or tachometer signal, Black for Ground) on a standard 3-pin fan connector. The cable facilitates the standard power delivery.

Verify that the male end is fully seated in the 3-pin header and the female end is securely connected to the fan. Ensure the fan itself is functional by testing it directly without the extension cable. Check that the header on the motherboard or PSU is active.

This extension cable is designed for 3-pin fans. If your fan and header are 4-pin PWM, this cable will not support PWM speed control. For speed control, a 4-pin PWM extension cable is required.

Gently reseat both the male and female connectors. Ensure no obstructions prevent a full connection. If the connectors appear damaged, the cable may need replacement.
