The Kilner Onion Keeper is a practical kitchen storage solution designed for home cooks who want to reduce food waste and keep their refrigerators organized and scent-free. This stylish glass container provides an airtight seal that helps maintain the freshness of whole or half onions, making it an excellent alternative to disposable plastic bags. While it is highly effective at odor containment and preservation, its compact size means it is intended specifically for individual onions rather than large produce hauls.

While designed for onions, it can be used for any small produce that requires odor containment or protection from moisture, such as halved lemons or garlic bulbs.
The Kilner Onion Keeper is primarily designed for refrigerator use. We do not recommend using it in the freezer as extreme temperature changes can cause the glass to crack.
Yes, the entire unit is dishwasher safe.
Glass is non-porous and highly resistant to staining, making it much easier to clean than plastic alternatives.
While freshness depends on the initial state of the onion, the airtight environment typically extends shelf life by several days compared to leaving an onion exposed.
The container measures 13cm in height, 7.4cm in width, and 13.5cm in depth.
Check that the silicone seal is properly seated in the groove of the lid and is not twisted.
Ensure the container is stored in the coldest part of your refrigerator and that the lid is fully pressed down to maintain the airtight environment.
Inspect the seal for debris and ensure the glass rim is clean before closing to allow for a perfect seal.
To begin using your Kilner Onion Keeper, ensure the interior glass is clean and dry before inserting your produce. Simply place your onion inside and press the lid firmly to engage the airtight seal. When cleaning, place the glass container in the dishwasher on a standard cycle. Avoid using abrasive scouring pads or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can scratch the glass surface over time. If the silicone seal needs manual cleaning, remove it carefully to avoid stretching and ensure it is dried completely before replacing it on the lid.
