Setup, Compatibility & Care
Sowing Indoors (March - May):
- Fill small pots (7–8cm) with seed compost, level, and water well.
- Sow seeds individually, 1cm deep, into the compost.
- Place pots in a propagator or cover with cling film in a warm room (15–20°C).
- Once shoots appear, remove cling film and keep seedlings in a light spot, out of direct sun.
- Grow on at a minimum temperature of 10°C.
- Gradually acclimatize plants to outdoor conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out after the risk of frost has passed.
Sowing Outdoors (March - May):
- Choose a sunny position with well-drained soil.
- Pre-water the soil where seeds will be sown.
- Sow seeds at a depth of 1.5cm directly into their flowering positions.
- Keep the soil moist until seedlings are established.
- Thin out seedlings as required to achieve the desired spacing.
Compatibility:
- Sunlight: Requires full sun for best performance.
- Soil: Prefers well-drained soil. Avoid waterlogged conditions.
Aftercare:
- Watering: Water well, especially during warm weather, to promote healthy growth and flowering.
- Feeding: Feed regularly with a suitable plant food once flowering begins to support continuous bloom production.
