Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
This cable uses standard RJ45 connectors, ensuring compatibility with most network devices. When installing outdoors or for direct burial, ensure proper trenching or mounting methods are used to protect the cable from physical damage. Due to its rigidity, avoid sharp bends; maintain a minimum bend radius of approximately 80mm (10 times the cable diameter) to prevent internal damage.
Compatibility:
The Kenable Cat7 cable is backward compatible with Cat6a, Cat6, Cat5e, and Cat5 Ethernet standards. However, to achieve the maximum 10 Gbps speeds and 600MHz bandwidth, all network components (routers, switches, network cards) must also support Cat7 or higher specifications.
Care:
While designed for outdoor use, it is recommended to protect the cable from prolonged exposure to extreme direct sunlight if possible, though the UV-resistant sheath offers significant protection. Regularly inspect the cable for any visible signs of damage, especially at connection points or where it passes through walls or conduits. Clean the cable exterior with a dry or slightly damp cloth; avoid harsh chemicals. Ensure connectors remain clean and dry.
