Clean the push-lock button and adjustment grooves. Apply a small amount of lubricant to the pivot and adjustment mechanism. Exercise the mechanism multiple times to free it up.

Ensure you are using the correct grip pressure. The bi-material handles are designed for comfort; if discomfort persists, consider wearing work gloves.

Clean the rusted areas with a wire brush. Apply a rust inhibitor or light oil to the jaws and pivot point. Store in a dry environment.
