Product Information

Full details

The Sambucus 'Black Tower' or Elderberry is an interesting upright, deciduous shrub with great value in smaller gardens due to its columnar nature. The slender stems carry large pinnate, incised leaves which appear green in Spring when young, maturing to a deep purple-black hue under full sun. Summer brings clusters of aromatic pink and white flowers followed by small, dark purple-red berries in Autumn. Plant in moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist, well-drained soil and keep in full or partial sun. Sambucus Black Tower, also known as Black Elder, is an ornamental shrub cherished for its striking black foliage and compact size. This easy-to-grow plant adds an elegant touch to borders, hedging, or containers in your garden. Its appealing black berries attract birds, making it a delightful choice for wildlife enthusiasts. To ensure its well-being, plant Sambucus Black Tower in well-draining soil and water it regularly, especially during hot weather, to keep the soil consistently moist. Providing full sun to partial shade exposure will support its optimal growth and enhance the beauty of this remarkable garden plant. Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a grower's pot.
