Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Ensure your subfloor is clean, dry, and level before installation. This flooring can be installed using three methods:
- Floating Installation: Lay the planks over an underlayment, clicking them together. This is often the quickest method and suitable for most residential settings.
- Nailed-Down Installation: Secure the planks directly to a wooden subfloor using nails.
- Glued-Down Installation: Adhere the planks directly to a suitable subfloor using an appropriate wood flooring adhesive.
Always follow the manufacturer's specific instructions for your chosen installation method and adhesive/underlayment.
Compatibility:
This flooring is compatible with most standard subfloors, including concrete and wood, provided they are properly prepared. It is generally suitable for use with underfloor heating systems, but always check specific compatibility guidelines and recommended installation procedures for heated floors.
Care:
To maintain the appearance and longevity of your Dalston Oak flooring:
- Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove dirt and grit that can scratch the surface.
- Clean spills immediately with a slightly damp cloth.
- Use a pH-neutral wood floor cleaner for deeper cleaning as needed, avoiding abrasive cleaners or excessive water.
- Use felt pads on the legs of furniture to prevent scratches.
- Use doormats at entrances to trap dirt and moisture.
