Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting started with your Art Studio Acrylic Paint is straightforward, and proper care ensures longevity for both your paint and tools.
Setup
- Prepare Your Workspace: Cover your work area to protect against spills. Gather your brushes, palette, water container, and paper towels.
- Open the Tube: Twist off the cap. If the tube is new, a small seal might need to be punctured (use the pointed tip on the cap if available, or a toothpick).
- Dispense Paint: Squeeze a small amount of Vibrant Turquoise onto your palette. Start with a modest amount; you can always add more.
Compatibility
- Mixing with Other Paints: This acrylic paint is fully compatible and mixable with all other Art Studio acrylic paints and most other brands of artist-grade acrylic paints.
- Mediums: Can be mixed with acrylic mediums such as flow improvers, gloss mediums, matte mediums, and retarders to alter its consistency, drying time, or finish.
- Surfaces: Compatible with a wide variety of primed art surfaces as mentioned in the 'Performance & Real-World Use' section.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning Brushes: Clean brushes immediately after use with water and a mild soap. Reshape bristles and allow them to air dry flat or upright with bristles pointing up.
- Storing Paint: Keep the tube cap tightly closed to prevent air exposure and drying. Store paint at room temperature, away from extreme heat or cold.
- Palette Care: If using a disposable palette, discard paint residues responsibly. For reusable palettes, clean off wet paint with a palette knife and wash with water and soap.
