Ethernet RJ45 / 8P8C Connector Jacks Supplied in Packs of 10. Used for termination connector for crimping onto the ends of CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 Cable. This is the standard 8P8C (Eight Position, Eight Contact) Ethernet connector, commonly referred to as RJ45. Most frequently used in PC networking applications, such as connecting PCs together, or to a modem, router or switch. These connectors can be used with stranded or solid core cabling. Features a razor sharp steel cutting blade for easy cable cutting, with a recessed design to protect fingertips. The heavy-duty vinyl grips keep the cutters stable and predictable during use, and a locking mechanism keeps everything compact and safe. Installation requires a CAT5e crimping tool (Not Included). Strip the insulation from the end of a CAT5e cable, line up the coloured wires within to the pins as per the wiring diagram. Once seated, squeeze the connector with a CAT5e crimp tool to grip and lock the wires. The insulation should now slide away easily. These connectors can be fitted to CAT5 or CAT5e Cable, using either of the industry standard TIA/EIA-568-A or TIA/EIA-568-B wiring configurations to create ‘Straight Through’ or ‘Cross Over’ cables. 'Cross over' cables connect 2 computers directly, without a Hub or Router, using TIA/EIA-568-A at one end and TIA/EIA-568-B at the other. 'Straight through' cables connect a PC or games console to a Hub/Router, or for audio and video distribution with AV extender devices. For a 'Straight through' cable, wire using the same variant (568-A to 568-A or 568-B to 568-B) at both ends. Technical Information; Transparent body to aid in the fitting of wires to terminals.
