This pack of Taps2Traps replacement pull cord strings is designed for homeowners needing to quickly and affordably replace worn or broken cords on bathroom, shower, or ceiling light switches. The key benefit is the simple, durable solution that restores functionality without complex installation. A minor caveat is that while compatible with *most* standard mechanisms, very old or unusual switch types may require verification. These cords offer a practical way to refresh your light switches with their durable black string and plastic toggle.

This pack includes two (2) replacement pull cord strings.
Each cord measures 5 feet (approximately 150cm) in length.
They are suitable for most standard bathroom, shower, or ceiling light pull switch mechanisms.
These cords are primarily designed for indoor use, particularly in damp environments like bathrooms. Extended outdoor exposure to UV and weather may degrade the material.
You typically tie a knot at one end of the cord and feed it through the switch mechanism's attachment point, ensuring the knot is secure. Then attach the toggle to the other end.
The cord is black, and the toggle is made of black plastic.
Yes, you can cut the cord to a shorter length if needed. Ensure you tie a secure knot at the cut end to prevent fraying and ensure it can be attached to the mechanism.
Ensure you are tying a sufficiently large knot at the end of the cord that cannot slip through the mechanism's attachment point. Check that the mechanism itself is intact and designed to accept a knotted cord.
The 5ft length is standard for most applications. If significantly different lengths are required, custom solutions may be necessary, but for most users, this length is adequate. Consider attaching the cord slightly higher or lower on the mechanism if adjustable.
Ensure the toggle is properly secured to the cord. If the cord is wet, grip may be reduced. For improved grip, you could consider adding a texture or a larger knot above the toggle.

Compatibility:
These cords are designed for most standard ceiling pull switch mechanisms. If your existing mechanism has a unique attachment point or requires a very thick cord, compatibility may vary. It is advisable to check the attachment point on your current switch before purchasing if you suspect it is non-standard.
Care:
To clean the cord, use a slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the string material. Ensure the cord is dry before use, especially in a bathroom environment.
