Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
This stair runner is designed for straightforward installation. The integrated gel latex backing provides a secure grip on most common stair surfaces, including wood, laminate, and tile. For many installations, it can be fitted directly without the need for additional underlay or gripper rods. Ensure the stairs are clean and dry before laying the runner. Position the runner carefully, ensuring it lies flat, and press down firmly, especially around the edges, to activate the grip of the backing.
Compatibility:
The runner is compatible with most standard staircase surfaces. The gel latex backing is designed to adhere well without damaging existing floor finishes on most materials. However, it is always recommended to test a small, inconspicuous area first if you have concerns about compatibility with a particular or treated stair surface.
Care:
Maintaining the 'Cheops' runner is simple:
- Vacuum regularly: Use a standard vacuum cleaner to remove dust and loose debris. Avoid using vacuums with a rotating beater bar on high settings, as this could potentially damage the loop pile over time.
- Spot Cleaning: For spills, blot the area immediately with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid harsh scrubbing. Use a mild detergent solution for tougher stains, again blotting gently.
- Deeper Cleaning: For more thorough cleaning, a carpet shampoo designed for polyamide or synthetic fibers can be used, following the product's instructions. Ensure the runner is allowed to dry thoroughly afterward.
- Avoid Over-wetting: Due to the backing, it's important not to saturate the runner, as this can impede drying.
