Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the caliper jaws are clean and free from debris.
- Gently open the caliper by spreading the legs.
- Carefully insert the caliper into the internal dimension you wish to measure.
- Adjust the central screw until the caliper jaws lightly, but firmly, contact the inner surfaces.
- Once contact is made, carefully remove the caliper and measure the jaw opening with a ruler, micrometer, or other external measuring tool.
Compatibility:
This caliper is designed for direct measurement of internal dimensions in materials such as metal, plastic, or wood. It is compatible with any standard external measuring device (ruler, micrometer, digital caliper) for reading the caliper's opening.
Care:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe the caliper with a soft, dry cloth to remove any dust or debris. For stubborn marks, use a lightly damp cloth and dry immediately.
- Storage: Store the caliper in its original packaging or a protective case to prevent damage to the jaws and adjustment screw. Avoid storing it loosely with other tools that could scratch or deform the polished surfaces.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of light machine oil to the adjustment screw threads to ensure smooth operation.
