The Belstaff Chassis Jacket is designed for the modern adult male who requires a sophisticated, high-performance outer layer that does not compromise on mobility. Its standout benefit is the 750-fill power down insulation combined with four-way stretch fabric, offering exceptional warmth-to-weight performance and total freedom of movement. While it provides excellent insulation for cold weather, users should note that the slim, elegant silhouette is tailored for a closer fit, which may limit the ability to layer bulky sweaters underneath.

It is designed as a mid-to-high warmth layer. While excellent for average cold, you may need an additional windproof shell in extreme sub-zero temperatures.
The jacket is intentionally cut to be slim. If you prefer a relaxed fit or plan to wear thick hoodies underneath, you may want to consider sizing up.
Store it hanging in a cool, dry place. Avoid compressing the jacket in a small bag for long periods, as this can degrade the down's ability to loft over time.
It is generally recommended to wash according to the instructions on the inner garment label. Dry cleaning chemicals can strip the natural oils from the down feathers.
Fill power measures the fluffiness of the down. A 750 rating is considered high-quality, indicating the jacket provides excellent warmth while remaining light and compressible.
This is common with high-fill down; gently pull the feather back into the jacket from the inside rather than pulling it out through the shell.
The DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating wears off over time; reapply a spray-on or wash-in DWR treatment specifically designed for technical outerwear.
Because the Chassis jacket is a technical down garment, proper care is essential to maintain its performance. To preserve the water-repellent coating and the integrity of the down fill, it is recommended to wash the jacket in a front-loading machine on a gentle cycle using a dedicated down detergent. Always dry the jacket in a tumble dryer on low heat with clean tennis balls or dryer balls; this crucial step breaks up any clumps of down and restores the jacket's original loft and insulation efficiency. Avoid using fabric softeners or bleaching agents, as these can strip the water-repellent finish and damage the delicate down feathers.
