FAQs

How do I reverse the sleeping bag layers?

The sleeping bag is modular; you can unzip the internal layers and flip them to expose either the fleece or smooth side based on your preference.

What is the total weight of the system?

The complete system weighs 14.8kg.

Can the bed be folded with the sleeping bag attached?

Yes, the system is designed to be folded with the bag in place, though using the compression straps is necessary for a secure, compact packdown.

What is the height adjustment range of the legs?

The legs are adjustable from 40cm to 60cm.

Is the frame material rust-resistant?

Yes, the high-tensile aluminium frame is naturally resistant to rust and corrosion, making it ideal for wet, outdoor environments.

Does this bedchair come with a carry bag?

The system features built-in compression straps for transport, but a dedicated carry case is sold separately by most retailers.

Troubleshooting

Legs are slipping or failing to lock

Clean the Spring-Loc leg mechanism of any grit or dried mud and ensure the locking pin is fully engaged.

Sleeping bag layers feel loose

Check all connection points and zippers around the perimeter of the bed to ensure they are fully secured.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Extremely versatile 5-season thermal performance
Excellent lumbar support prevents back pain
Flat-profile design for natural sleeping posture
Durable high-tensile aluminium construction
Reversible bag options (fleece vs. smooth material)

Cons

Total weight of 14.8kg can be heavy for some
Requires significant storage space in small vehicles
More complex to set up than a basic standalone bedchair

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setting up the sleep system is straightforward: unclip the compression straps, unfold the frame on level ground, and extend the Spring-Loc legs to your desired height. Ensure each mudfoot is firmly planted to prevent sinking into soft soil.

For care, it is recommended to brush off mud and debris from the frame after each session to maintain the integrity of the hinges. The sleeping bag layers are detachable, allowing for easy cleaning. Always ensure the sleeping bag is completely dry before packing the system away for long-term storage to prevent mold or odors. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners on the fleece material to preserve its texture.
