Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Remove the plant from its shipping container. If it's in a decorative pot, ensure it has drainage holes. If not, consider repotting it into a suitable container with good drainage.
Compatibility: This plant thrives alongside other tropical houseplants that prefer moderate light and humidity. It complements plants like Peace Lilies, Ferns, and various foliage plants. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in drafty locations.
Care:
- Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves.
- Watering: Water the central cup of the plant sparingly when the water has evaporated. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Avoid letting water sit in the leaf axils for extended periods, as this can lead to rot. Empty any excess water from the decorative pot saucer.
- Temperature: Ideal temperatures are between 65-75°F (18-24°C).
- Humidity: Appreciates moderate to high humidity. Misting occasionally or placing it near a humidifier can be beneficial.
- Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as an orchid or bromeliad mix.
