Apple Home Key allows you to use your compatible iPhone or Apple Watch to lock and unlock your Yale Assure Lock 2 Plus with a simple tap, similar to how you use Apple Pay. Your encrypted key is stored securely in your Apple Wallet.
The Yale Assure Lock 2 Plus is designed for key-free access. It does not use a traditional key cylinder.
You can send temporary or permanent entry codes to guests directly from the Yale Access app. These codes can be customized for specific times or dates.
You can still operate the lock using your smartphone via Bluetooth when you are within range. If you have set up Apple Home Key, that functionality will continue to work without an internet connection.
With normal usage, the batteries (4x AA) are designed to last approximately one year. The Yale Access app will provide low battery warnings.
You need an iPhone XS or later running iOS 15 or later, or an Apple Watch Series 4 or later running watchOS 8 or later.
The exterior portion of the lock is designed to withstand typical outdoor weather conditions, but it is recommended to check the specific IP rating for detailed environmental resistance.
Ensure your iPhone or Apple Watch meets the minimum OS requirements (iOS 15+/watchOS 8+). Verify the device is within close proximity to the lock and that Bluetooth and NFC are enabled. Re-add the Home Key to your Apple Wallet.
Confirm your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. Check your Wi-Fi password for accuracy. Restart your router and the smart lock. Ensure the lock is within range of your Wi-Fi signal.
