Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Preparation: Ensure the heating system is off and cooled down. Have appropriate tools (pipe wrench, adjustable wrench, etc.) ready.
- Valve Installation: Connect the RT414 to the radiator inlet. Use the correct fittings for a secure and leak-proof connection.
- Lockshield Connection: Attach the lockshield valve to the outlet side of the radiator.
- Filling and Bleeding: Once the installation is complete, refill the system and bleed the radiators to remove any trapped air.
- Setting the Temperature: Rotate the TRV head to set your desired room temperature.
Compatibility
The Drayton RT414 is compatible with standard 15mm pipework. Ensure that your existing radiator system is compatible before installation. It is Keymark approved to EN215.
Care
- Cleaning: Wipe the TRV head with a damp cloth to remove any dust or debris. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Inspection: Regularly check for any leaks around the valve connections.
- Maintenance: Occasionally, the valve may need to be exercised by turning it fully on and off to prevent sticking. The lockshield allows for draining off of the system to maintain the valves.
