This Korum Allrounder Centrepin reel is designed for anglers who require a smooth, reliable reel for larger bodies of water and faster rivers. Its key benefit is the ultra-smooth line retrieval thanks to Japanese Nippon Miniature Bearings, allowing for precise control with larger floats and heavier lines. A potential caveat for some users might be the traditional centrepin operation, which requires a different casting technique than modern geared reels.

This reel is ideal for float fishing on larger rivers with faster currents, or on large stillwaters, especially when using heavier lines and floats.
The Japanese Nippon Miniature Bearings are high-quality and sealed for durability. While they offer exceptional smoothness, they are generally not user-serviceable beyond basic cleaning of the spindle and exterior. A very light oiling of the spindle is usually all that's needed.
Casting a centrepin reel involves holding the line and allowing the spool to rotate freely. Experienced anglers often use their fingers to control the spool's speed during the cast and retrieve, providing precise line management.
The primary advantage is direct line control without the gearing found in spinning reels. This allows for a smoother retrieve, more precise line management, and a more natural presentation of bait, especially in currents.
Rinse with fresh water after use, especially if exposed to dirt or saltwater. Wipe the body and spool with a soft, damp cloth. Ensure the reel is dry before storage.
The reel is designed to handle heavier reel lines, typically ranging from 6lb to 12lb breaking strain or higher, depending on the target species and fishing conditions.
Ensure the spool is correctly seated and the line guard is not rubbing against the spool. Check for any debris caught in the bearings or spindle. If issues persist, a light application of reel oil on the spindle may help.
Adjust the line guard to a position that offers better line control. Ensure you are not overfilling the spool. Practice smooth retrieve techniques.
Check for dirt or grit. Clean the reel exterior and spindle. Avoid submerging the reel in water. If stiffness persists, consider a very light application of reel oil.
