Setup, Compatibility & Care
To begin using the MD 46, simply connect a standard balanced XLR cable from the base of the microphone to your professional camera, portable recorder, or audio interface. As a dynamic microphone, the MD 46 does not require phantom power (+48V) to operate, though it will not be harmed if phantom power is engaged on your input device. To ensure the longevity of your equipment, always store the microphone in a protective pouch when not in use to keep dust out of the grille. Clean the exterior metal housing with a dry, lint-free cloth. If the grille becomes soiled, it can be gently cleaned using a soft-bristle brush, ensuring that no moisture enters the capsule area.
