No, Bartoline White Spirit is designed for oil-based paints. Emulsion paint is water-based and should be cleaned with soap and water.
You can use it indoors provided you have adequate ventilation, such as open windows and doors, to dissipate the vapors.
This product is refined to meet the requirements of BS245.
When kept in a tightly sealed container and stored in a cool place, it remains effective for a very long period.
It is not recommended for skin contact. Use a specialized hand cleaner or soap and warm water instead.
Soak the bristles in a fresh batch of spirit for 10-15 minutes and work the brush against the side of the container before rinsing.
This often indicates high humidity or that the solvent is becoming saturated with dissolved paint; use a fresh supply of solvent to finish the cleaning process.
Always use in a well-ventilated area, such as outdoors or with windows wide open. Keep away from heat sources, sparks, and open flames. When storing, ensure the cap is tightened securely to prevent evaporation and keep it in a cool, dark environment away from reach of children. Use protective gloves to avoid skin irritation and dispose of any rags soaked in the spirit by soaking them in water to prevent potential combustion.
