The Madeira Metallic Embroidery Thread (200m - Gold) is designed for embroidery enthusiasts and professional sewists who want to add an elegant, high-shine finish to their decorative projects. Its high-tenacity core ensures smooth operation on standard embroidery and sewing machines, offering exceptional durability for intricate designs. However, users should note that metallic threads typically require slower machine speeds and specific needles to prevent breakage compared to standard polyester or cotton threads.

While it can be used for decorative serging, it is primarily designed for embroidery and topstitching machines.

Standard embroidery bobbin thread is recommended to keep the overall tension balanced and the back of your project neat.
Yes, it is designed for durability; however, always follow garment care labels and wash in gentle cycles.
A 80/12 or 90/14 topstitch or metallic needle is typically the best choice for this thread weight.
Reduce your machine speed and ensure you are using a topstitch or metallic needle with a larger eye.
Adjust the top tension to be slightly looser, as metallic thread is stiffer than standard cotton threads.
Use a vertical thread stand to allow the thread to unwind freely without twisting.
To ensure the best results, use a dedicated thread stand if your machine’s horizontal spool pin causes the thread to twist. Always thread your machine carefully to ensure the thread remains inside the tension discs. When cleaning, avoid harsh chemicals; gentle laundering is recommended to preserve the metallic sheen. Use a fresh needle for every new project to prevent burrs from damaging the delicate outer wrapping of the thread.
