Roxil Wood Scrub Gel is a clear gel-based wood cleaner designed to clean and revive weathered softwood, effectively removing grey discolouration and restoring the natural colour of timber. Its gel formulation allows for easy and accurate application by brush or roller, making it suitable for both horizontal and vertical outdoor wood surfaces such as decking and garden furniture. The cleaner works by picking up dirt and grime, reviving and restoring wood's natural appearance. As a 'Prepare' product from the Roxil range, it primes weathered, unpainted, and unvarnished wood for finishing coats. It effectively removes black, tannin, and rust stains from timber. Roxil Wood Scrub Gel is a ready-to-use, water-based oxalic acid wood cleaner, often referred to as a wood reviver or wood bleach. Unlike oxalic acid crystals, it does not require mixing with water or methylated spirits. The approximate coverage is 1m² per litre, though this can vary based on wood type and condition. Avoid application in extremely cold temperatures (minimum 5°C). A small test area is recommended before full application to determine compatibility, as efficacy may vary based on wood species and condition. Previous treatments like paint and varnish should be stripped before applying Roxil Wood Scrub Gel. Ensure no rain is forecast during the cleaning process for best results (allow 24 hours). Clean debris and dirt from the surface beforehand. For heavy biological growth, cleaning with a wash like Roxil 100 Wood & Patio Cleaner is advised. Not recommended for antique, ornamental, rotten, broken, or fragile wood.
