Setup, Compatibility & Care
This tool requires no formal setup and is ready for use immediately out of the packaging. Because the blade is carbon steel, proper care is critical for the longevity of the tool:
- Clean immediately after use: Remove all traces of wet cement or mortar using a brush or sponge.
- Dry thoroughly: Never store the trowel wet. Use a dry cloth to remove moisture immediately after cleaning.
- Protect the blade: Apply a light coat of machine oil or a corrosion inhibitor to the blade before storing it in a dry environment to prevent surface oxidation.
- Storage: Hang the trowel by the handle or store it in a dedicated tool drawer to keep the blade edge protected from impacts.
