Setup, Compatibility & Care
To install, ensure the hasp is mounted onto a solid base material—preferably treated timber or metal. Use high-quality, corrosion-resistant screws that penetrate deep into the door frame for maximum "rip-out" resistance. For angled applications, test the swing of the hinge before marking your pilot holes to ensure the padlock eye aligns perfectly when the door is in the closed position.
Maintain the hardware by applying a light machine oil to the hinge pin once a year to prevent seizing, especially in coastal or high-humidity climates. Regularly check that the mounting screws remain tight, as vibration from frequent door use can loosen them over time.
