FAQs

Are these pads machine washable?

We recommend hand washing in cool water to preserve the D3O material and elastic components.

Do these guards include both knee and shin protection?

Yes, these are integrated guards that cover both the knee joint and the shin bone.

What does D3O mean?

D3O is a patented protective material that is soft and flexible in its natural state but locks together upon impact to absorb energy.

Are they sold as a single unit or a pair?

These guards are sold as a pair (left and right).

Can I wear these under my riding pants?

Yes, the slim profile of the D3O padding allows them to be worn comfortably under most mountain bike specific pants.

Troubleshooting

Ensure the hook and loop strap is tightened firmly and check that the silicone grippers are against clean skin.

Feeling discomfort at the back of the knee

Verify that the asymmetrical left and right guards are on the correct legs; re-adjust the positioning of the main sleeve.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure maximum effectiveness, identify the 'L' and 'R' indicators on the inner lining of the guards. Slide them on so that the knee cup aligns perfectly with your kneecap, then tighten the hook and loop straps to prevent migration during the ride. For care, it is recommended to hand wash the pads using mild detergent and cool water. Always air dry away from direct heat sources to maintain the integrity of the elastic fabric and the protective properties of the D3O material. Avoid using bleach or industrial cleaners as these can degrade the nylon fibers.
