Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility Verification: Before installation, confirm that part number `821.290` is listed as compatible with your specific vehicle's year, make, and model. Consult your vehicle's service manual or an authorized parts database.
Installation:
- Ensure the oil sump surface is clean and free of debris.
- Apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the seal ring.
- Insert the sealing plug into the oil sump drain hole.
- Tighten the plug using the appropriate wrench. Crucially, tighten to the torque specification recommended by your vehicle manufacturer. Overtightening can strip threads or damage the oil pan, while undertightening can lead to leaks.
Care:
This is a one-time use component. Once removed, it should be replaced. No routine care is required for the plug itself beyond ensuring it is correctly installed. Regular checks of your oil level and for any signs of leaks around the oil sump area are recommended.
