The Primaflow QQE Isolating Valve is an essential component for plumbers and homeowners who require a reliable method to control water flow to specific appliances or zones. It offers the key benefit of enabling maintenance and repairs without shutting off the main water supply to an entire building, though users should ensure they have the appropriate tools for a secure, leak-proof compression fitting connection.

Yes, it is suitable for isolating branches in central heating systems and hot/cold water supply lines.
No, it requires standard plumbing tools such as two adjustable spanners for tightening compression nuts.
It means the product has been tested and verified to comply with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations in the UK.
You must use a dedicated pipe insert (stiffener) inside the plastic pipe if using compression fittings to prevent the pipe from collapsing.
When the slot on the valve head is perpendicular to the pipe flow, the valve is closed.
Tighten the nut slightly more with a spanner. If it continues to leak, inspect the olive for deformities and replace if necessary.
Mineral deposits may have accumulated. Apply a small amount of plumbers grease to the stem and gently work the valve back and forth to loosen it.
To install the Primaflow QQE Isolating Valve, ensure your 22mm copper pipe ends are clean, burr-free, and perfectly round. Slide the compression nut and olive onto the pipe before inserting the pipe into the valve body. Tighten the nut by hand, then use an adjustable spanner to tighten it by an additional half to three-quarters of a turn. Avoid overtightening, as this can damage the olive. For maintenance, periodically operate the valve (turn it off and on) once every six months to prevent mineral deposit buildup, which can cause the internal mechanism to seize over time.
