The EarthQuaker Devices Tentacle v2 is a classic analog octave up effect, derived from the popular Hoof Reaper pedal. It allows you to add a swelling octave up to your sound. This pedal has no controls, offering a simple plug-and-play experience. For the most pronounced octave effect, it is recommended to use your neck pickup and play above the 12th fret. The Tentacle v2 features Flexi-switch switching for both latching and momentary operation, along with silent relay-based switching and a new enclosure. It requires a standard 9-volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. It's advised to use pedal-specific, transformer-isolated wall-wart power supplies for optimal performance and to avoid noise from unclean power sources. The pedal has a current draw of 2 mA. For best results, place the Tentacle as close to the front of your signal chain as possible. V2 updates include Flexi-switch switching for latching or momentary operation, silent relay-based switching, and a new enclosure.
