Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Installation typically involves isolating the heating system, draining down the relevant section, removing old valves, and fitting the new Hudson Reed valves. Ensure the 1/2" BSP threaded inlet is correctly connected to the radiator or towel rail. PTFE tape or jointing compound may be required on the threads for a watertight seal.
Compatibility: These valves are compatible with most standard radiators and towel rails that have 1/2" BSP radiator valve tails. They are designed for angled connections, meaning the pipework runs at approximately a 90-degree angle to the valve body where it meets the radiator.
Care: To maintain the polished chrome finish, wipe the valves regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can scratch the surface. For stubborn marks, a mild detergent can be used, followed by a rinse and drying with a soft cloth.
