Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Installation of the FAI Engine Oil Pump OP167 must be performed by a qualified technician. This ensures the pump is correctly seated, timed, and integrated with the engine's lubrication system. Proper gasket installation and torque specifications are critical for preventing leaks and ensuring optimal performance.
Compatibility:
This oil pump is specifically designed for the following original applications:
- Rover 25 I Hatchback (1999-2005) with 1.4L and 1.8L engines.
- Land Rover Freelander I (1998-2006) with a 1.8L engine.
- MG 6 Hatchback/Saloon (2010) with a 1.8 T engine.
It is crucial to verify fitment and check all vehicle specifications before purchase. This part is not intended for modified vehicles.
Care:
As a sealed engine component, the oil pump itself requires no direct user maintenance. However, its performance is directly linked to the overall health of the engine's oil system. Regular oil changes with the correct grade and type of engine oil, along with timely replacement of the oil filter, are essential for prolonging the life of the oil pump and the engine. Ensure oil levels are consistently maintained as per the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations.
