Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure you have a compatible hex head driver bit for your drill or screwdriver.
- Predrill pilot holes in the timber sleepers if necessary, especially for hardwood like Oak, to prevent splitting.
- Align the SleeperSecure bracket or plate with the desired position on the sleeper.
- Drive the SleeperSecure screws through the bracket/plate into the timber until snug and secure. Avoid over-tightening.
Compatibility:
These screws are specifically designed for use with SleeperSecure brackets and plates. They are intended for use with timber sleepers and are 63mm in length, suitable for standard sleeper thicknesses. The A2/304 grade stainless steel is particularly recommended for use with Oak sleepers to prevent staining.
Care:
Due to their stainless steel construction, these screws require minimal care. They are inherently resistant to corrosion and staining. However, during prolonged periods of immersion in water or aggressive chemical environments, inspection is recommended. Keep the screw heads clear of excessive dirt or debris to ensure continued ease of access for future maintenance.
