The LAO182 uses CareMetix technology, which provides a higher level of protection against bacteria and allergens compared to basic paper or charcoal filters.
Yes, the multi-layer design is specifically engineered to trap and neutralize common exterior road odors before they enter the cabin.
MAHLE generally recommends checking and replacing the cabin filter every 12,000 to 15,000 miles to maintain optimal air quality.
No, it is compatible with specific VW models. Always check your vehicle's service manual or use a parts finder tool to confirm fitment for your specific model year.
The product is backed by a 2-year or 30,000-mile warranty covering defects in material and workmanship.
No, the LAO182 is a disposable filter and should be replaced, not cleaned or washed.
The filter may be saturated with debris. Check the filter and replace it if clogged.
Ensure the filter is seated correctly in the housing with no air gaps, and confirm it is the correct replacement for your model year.
Verify the orientation of the filter. It must be perfectly flat in the tray; if it is bent or skewed, the lid will not latch properly.
Installation of the LAO182 is straightforward, typically involving the removal of the cabin filter housing usually found behind the glove box or under the dashboard of compatible Volkswagen vehicles. It is recommended to perform this change at least every 12,000 to 15,000 miles, or more frequently if you drive in extremely dusty environments. When installing, ensure the directional airflow arrow on the filter frame matches the airflow direction of your vehicle's HVAC blower. No specialized tools are required, though a flat-head screwdriver may assist with opening clips on certain VW models. Keep the filter dry at all times, as moisture can compromise the filtration media.
