The Trade 4 You Ltd 420mm Insulation Board Tool is an essential implement for professional contractors and DIY enthusiasts who require precise, clean cuts through a wide range of thermal materials. Designed to tackle everything from rigid PIR and XPS foam boards to fibrous Rockwool and polystyrene, this tool offers excellent control for fit-out projects. While its long blade is highly effective for thick material, users should be mindful of the large footprint when working in tight, enclosed loft spaces or narrow corridors.

No, this tool is specifically engineered for insulation materials such as foam boards and wool; using it on metal will damage the blade.
The blade is permanently integrated into the handle for stability; it is designed for long-term use and maintenance through sharpening.
The included sheath is primarily for safe storage and protection; check the sheath attachment points for compatibility with your specific tool belt.
Use a dry cloth to wipe away dust; for adhesive residue, use a mild solvent that is safe for stainless steel before wiping dry.
Yes, the long blade provides enough stability for detailed cuts if done with light, steady pressure.
Clean the blade surface to remove built-up adhesive or insulation debris; if the edge is worn, use a manual sharpening stone to touch up the blade.
Ensure you are using a smooth, controlled sawing motion rather than trying to force the blade through in one heavy downward press.
Use long, sweeping strokes rather than short, choppy ones to keep the fibers aligned while cutting.
No assembly is required; the tool is ready for use immediately upon removal from the packaging. To maintain performance, ensure the blade is wiped clean of dust or debris after each use. Store the tool inside its provided sheath when not in active use to prevent dulling of the edge against other tools. If the blade loses its sharpness after heavy industrial use, a fine-grit honing stone can be used to restore the edge, though the stainless steel construction is designed to hold its temper well.
